dont know if this is the right place to ask but here goes, i just bought a polaris light meter that was made in japan by the aspen corporation. i looked all over the meter for a model number but found none? does anyone have knowledge of this meter? bought it second hand no instruction manuel! on the top of it there is a white bubble thingie that slides back and forth? has a button for power, mode,iso, multi....oh well i probably just got took but you never know, right?

No real knowledge of that meter here, but I'm pretty sure that Adorama sells them, and has a picture of it on their web site. That might help you determine the model, then you could do an internet search for a manual. Hope this helps.

The white dome or bubble is the light sensor, sorry I cant help more , maybe use Google?

Sounds like everything is there. Light meters are pretty intuitive. You can probably fumble around with the buttons a bit to get going, then be metering like a pro in no time.

It sounds like mine it is a shepard/polaris mgf # SPD 100. I bought mine used from ebay and the seller made a sheet of instructions for me ...I will be happy to send it to you ..if you like...but like you I would love to find a book of instructions
