This was at a fashion show. It was an unplanned/unexpected shoot. My first time shooting people. I tried my hand at postprocessing. Basically crop, resize, b&w conversion, and the mask (for color). I would like any cc or coments if any.
Thanks

Looks like a good shot but for me, I think that I would have cropped it a little different.
Just my opinion.

could you give me an example? I wanted to crop closer on the sides, but was worried it wouldn't look right chopping the model in the back. Is it normal to crop without the aspect, and emprovise some other way?

I would crop closer to the person on the right. (and remove the color)

I agree with the cropping. Crop to the right of the rightmost woman. That monitor speaker, the crack in the curtain, etc. is not needed and distracting. However, I disagree with removing the color. I would leave the one person highlighted as you have it. /Dan

I appreciate the reply's. I also agree with the cropping. The only problem is that either I loose the head of the woman on the right, I loose my cropping ratio, or I loose my subject. If there is another way then i'm all ears.
btw, the reason I did the b&w/ color image is because there was way too much going on when it was all color, and this is how I thought I could bring more focus to the subject.
Thanks yall

If you have to make a print, then cropping ratio is a consideration, but not an ABSOLUTE, chipped into stone? That's why people use matts for pics.
For the web, you can crop any way you need to.
