Focus distance (Subject Distance)

Hello
I need to get focused distance from PowerShot G7 camera.(distance
between camera and subject).
Is it possible to get to get focused distance by sdk?

Today Canon has e-mailed their SDK subscribed developers with news of an available Canon PowerShot RemoteCapture Software Development Kit (PS-Rec SDK) Version 1.1.0b for Windows 2000/XP that supports the PowerShot G7, S3 IS, S80, A640 and A620 models exclusively.

The mail also reads "the SDK general information page on our consumer web site will not be updated until November 29th", so we will have to wait till tomorrow to download the appropiate guides in order to find out.
