I have used PSPX in the past I have aquired CS2 though and I do find it much easier to navigate and seems to be a 'smarter' software.. But, you can get results from PSP.. there's nothing really wrong with it.. and I haven't taken it off of my computer there are still a couple of actions that are easier for me to do in it..

I have used PSP since V7. I now have V11. The first version was purchased because, at that time, Adobe had only one version and that was very expensive. Many of the PS functions can be done with PSP and, since I am used to it, there is no reason for me to switch. I think it is a great program.

I have the Paint Shop ProX 10. I did have photoshop also but ended up it having a Virus so I uninstalled it. Thats what you get when you download for free. To me they are the same but different.

Hello,
I used it from version 6 through version 9, but had to bail out when we made the switch to a color manged workflow and AdobeRGB as our working color space. PSP only seems to support sRGB, unless that's changed in later versions. Anyone care to report?

I've been using PSP Studio (got it free after rebate from Amazon), but now I have PSP9 on its way here.

I have been using Paint Shop Pro it since it was shareware, back in the early 90's. It has advanced to a nice program. For the price, it beats Photoshop, with all the features. Photoshop (my opinion) is the "standard" which everyone goes by. (I have both programs).
With rebates, you can get PaintShop Pro for under $50 bucks. My PSCS2 cost me a small "bundle!" I wish they brought that down in price!

I thought there was the option to use adobe colorspace on psp10 and 11. Maybe someone can double check that.

Freeze,
I just checked my PSP XI and it has the option to use AdobeRGB 1998 as your Color Working Space setting. I don't know if that's the latest AdobeRGB Color Space.

Been using it for a long time. Faster and easier than photoshop and it does many things that conventional PS does not (reduce noise, change color temperature, built in sepia etc)

Looks like it's been awhile since this was discussed and was wonderin' if anyone else had thoughts on this. I have PSP8 and PS7 and use them both, but find myself using PSP more often than not.
Any other input?

I started off with PSP but once I moved to PS I haven't looked back.
Seldom use PSP now unless I need a screen capture or to do an anim GIF.
BTW love your avatar 12stones ! ;)

I use PSP X and XI on two different machines, and love it. I don't use it in any professional way though.
I think it's just that I've been using PSP for so long, that it feels comfortable. I've got PSE 5 which seems pretty decent, but the interface is a bit alien.

I had used PSP 3 through PSP9. I used to think it did just about everything PS did. And it does--but I found PS to do those things better.

I have PSP X and love using it for my workflow, in part because its batch processing (scripts) frees me of fixing things one at a time, and because it has great cropping and perspective correction and redeye removal and (on and on)!
Photoshop has a richer set of 'graphics' tools, but I am a photographer (who used to manipulate things in the darkroom) and not a 'graphic artist', so those tools are not important to me. And, I don't want to perpetually enrich Adobe via their very high priced upgrades!

Paint Shop Pro beats Photoshop hands down in terms of ease of use, it is so much more user friendly.
It does 90% of what PS does at a 5th of the price.

I've been using PSP since it was shareware, and see no reason to change.

I use PSP more often than Photoshop....much faster and easier to do daily edits with...can't beat the crop and resize features...I can do 10 PSP before you can do 1 in Photoshop.

I had V7 a few years back. One of those freebies with a PC mag.
Tried it - Loved it - Kept it.
But then I discovered Photoshop and never went back to PSP.

Same for started with PSP in the mid 90's. Switched to Photopshop (6) and now CS2. Only very rarely go into PSP.

I have both of these also and PSP seems a little easier for me and does more. If I really like a shot that I cant seem to get right I might play a little with it in both programs, and then pick which one I use.
