IXUS I LCD Problem

Hello everyone.

I've just got a new IXUS I camera & have noticed three red dots on the LCD screen. One is towards the top right, one low & to the middle & one midway & to the left.

The dots appear regardless of whatever settings I choose. Would I be right in assuming the LCD is deffective ?
