I'm about to buy a 67mm CP filter for my Tamron 28-75mm lens. Would there be any gain in buying a more expensive one ?
For example Jessops own brand is £48.00 ukp, Hoya £58.00 ukp and B/W is £70.00 ukp.

Is the difference going to be noticible apart from the price diffrence. All these prices are on Jessops website, I have a £50.00 Jessops voucher to spend...a birthday gift so I will be buying from them.

I already have a 58mm CP filter (Jessops own brand) for the other 2 lenses I have which has pleasing results...to me anyway.

Buy the best you can afford. They deteriorate over time and cheaper may not mean better. Even my pricey Hoya filter finally got foggy and I had to trash it. replaced it with a B+W slim CPL.

Never put cheap glass in front of good glass. It just degrades your image. I use a B&W 77mm CPL. You are paying for good glass and multicoating that reduces glare and flare.
