Shutter clicks on a Rebel XTi

I have been searching and can't find it. How many shutter clicks could I expect from the XTi? Thanks.

it really depends on useage/enviornment etc

there is a stated number, but just like with car engines, its totally up in the air. I believe Canon says 30-50k, but you'll see some only go 10 or others go to 100.

More often than not, the user upgrades before the shutter goes. If it does go, its like a 200-300 fix if it isin't under warranty still

I do not mean to be rude here but I am trying to figure out what is the relevancy of the number of expected shutter clicks. Seems to me thats a lot of worrying over nothing. If it fails then you either repair it under warranty or out of pocket or go buy another camera. I think all that worry or thinking about it has to hamper your ability to do what you are trying to do in the first place. If you get 10,000 or 1000,000 clicks what should matter is whether or not you got the best shots possible at the time you took them, Have you continued to learn and grow with everyone of those clicks you took as opposed to how many clicks do I have left. Again just stating my opinion and not trying to hurt anyone's feelings over the issue.

Don't think it is so much as worrying, but something that's good to know. You can prehaps relate it to the cost/click, and find that a 30D is actually cheaper since it can take more pictures before the shutter goes (assuming it goes at what it is rated at). Though some people never reach that many shots before they get a new body. Or someone estimating the death of the shutter so they have a backup, or a backup for the backup in case the backup dies too. :lol: Hey I bet someone is that prepared for the worst!
