Ok, I bought 2 adaptor rings one 52mm's one 58mm's, the lens adapter (LA-DC58) for the G2, and I used an Canon FD Lens 50mm 1:1.8.

I Tried takign some pictures but I wanted to know is this how its supposed to come out? I put the apreture wide open, set the focus on the FD lens to infinity.

Here is the resulting photo, I had no subject since I was at work, but I shot a picture of piece of bread

Here is a better example... Are these close enough? I saw the picture of the fly, and do you think I would be able to come up with a clsoe up like that? Because that was pretty impressive.

Are you zooming in with the G2? I use a 50mm f/2 Pentax lens with my G3 at full zoom. The corners are always dark, but the image fills the frame much better than your sample shots. I would think your 1.8 lens should fill the frame better than mine.

Nope I'm not zooming in at all, the apreture is wide open as well... I might as well go pick up an FD 1.4 or maybe try to find an FD 1.2. They aren't that expensive in the end.

One more thing, should I be zooming in? I set the focus on infinity on the FD lens and on the G2 aswell, and just focus with moving the camera.

Yes, you need to zoom all the way in with the G3.

Wow, yes it worked, thanks alot for taking your time and answering my question, now I' even happier that I chose to do this setup :D

I'm not having such a good day but later on I'll take some pics if I come up with anything cool

Scott Dommin has done a lot of work in this field. He regularly contributes to this forum, so do a search on sdommin to find his macro work. You might be able to pick up something very useful from conversing with him directly.
