Well I am not one to nit pick, if the shot brings or shows good emotion I like it. And I like this one... why because as a Father it brings back precious memories of my child at that age/stage that is all to fleeting, blink and they are grown upor grown out of that stage.
As a photographer you did your job capturing emotion ,essence, in my opinion .
Question is it a crop of a much larger shot?

No it isn't a crop, straight from the camera, although I did take a couple more pics from farther back.
Thanks for the nice words.

Awesome picture. Kids look so wonderful in black and white. There is no reason to ever use color.
Good use of everything. Somehow that very unintersting bowl takes on a whole new meaning as a baby handles it for the first time.

Great B/W, the focus on the eye brows and lashes, softness of the baby and the interesting object (bowl) worked great.

This is a wonderful picture that really capture the cute quiet moment of this cute kid! Have you try to increase the depth of field a bit more? Or change it into a portrait? These might help to make it even more powerful.

Thanks all for the nice words.
Kanwing,
I think increasing the DOF would destroy what I tried to create. However, I did apply a portrait crop and it worked GREAT! Large framaed print from MPIX.com hanging on my wall as we speak...write...type, well you know what I mean.
Thanks again all!

Wow! What to say? For me, this has to rate as one of the nicest photos posted on this forum. I just think it is... heaven! The composure, exposure, everything. And (as said) those lashes!
Nice creative photography showing technical competence.
Thanks for posting
