Got a wierd problem, now to start off with, I work on a calibrated monitor and I safe my stuff in sRGB.
when I edit pictures in Potoshop I have to trust the colors there are the same as when I (or the client) views it in windows.
I use a program to view my pictures, that is color managed.
the colors are way too saturated in windows that in PS. anyone know why that is? will it follow onto print?

In Photoshop what does it say under Edit/Color Settings/RGB and under Edit/Color Settings/(advanced)/Intent?

You are working in one color-space (Adobe) and saving in another (sRGB).
People have opinions on "correct" color management that run deeper and more fanatical that "correct" religious beliefs. And just like all zealotry, they will try to convince you that God told them their way is the only way.
All I want to do is share my experience. Take it or don't. For me, I find that I get the most consistent results - from editing through sharing all the way to printing by editing in sRGB with a Perceptual intent.
Again, this is just my experience. Others will post after me to point out the error of my ways and that you should not listen to me.

What program? Settings in PS color prefs (specifically: tick boxes 'profile mismatch')
If I understand correct, you have PS setup for an AdobeRGB workflow, yet you use sRGB files? Or do you start with Adobe RGB files, and convert to sRGB as a last step?
Some reading (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=235743) of a similair (?) problem.

AFAIK Irfanview isn't color managed.
Have a read (http://www.paintedstork.com/digiblog/2005/05/notes-on-color-management.html)
For an Adobe RGB workflow, Photoshops color settings (In the Edit menu) should be set up like this:
Also, have a read in the other link I posted.

I just installed ACDsee wich should be color aware right? and still its more saturated then in PS
all so I am working right now in sRGB and my settings are set up like radtech said. don't know if that makes a difference
it has been quite a wile since my monitor has been calibrated but that shouldbn't be the issue.
