Curious, is the new Canon EF 55-200mm II USM lens only compatible with the Digital Rebel?
I thought I heard it was made the same was the the 18-55mm lenskit which is only compatible with the Rebel.

Says that it's compatable with all EOS cameras...

I believe they would of called it and "S" lens if it were only compatable with the D Rebel. I really do not see the need for them to make additonal line of lenses.

Thanks guys.
Yes I thought it was an "S" lens, but as you point out, it is not.
I am having a HARD time finding a quality, affordable 200mm zoom lens.
The 70-200mm L f/4 lens looks sooo nice, but it's hard justifying $1000 CDN on that lens.
Boy, if that lens was only $550 like it is in the States, I think every canon camera owner in Canada would have one. I know I wouldnt think twice about it.

Thanks for the offer.
That's about $750CDN.
Hmmm tempting.
I will offer you $600 CDN :)
I think B&H sell them for that price new though.
The other problem is, if I buy an American lens, I dont think the warrranty is valid in Canada. Anyone know about this?

As far as I know, any lens (or body, for that matter) warranty that's good in the USA is also good in Canada. Or at least that's the case with the 100-400L and the 28-138 Canon lenses that I have. And, of course, we're talking USA product and not gray.

Thanks PacAce.
I assume you are in Canada, right?
If so, what is the best way to ship into Canada, without getting hit with HUGE brokerage fees I've heard about?
Thanks again

Sorry, but I'm actually in the US, so I wouldn't be able to answer that question.
What my wife's relatives and friends do when they want to buy something from the US and not get hit with the customs taxes is to have it shipped to us here. Then they just pick up the item from our place the next time they come for a visit.
Maybe you know someone in the US near the border that you can have your purchase shipped to. Just a thought.
