Well, the good news is I just got my 5d yesterday and absolutely love it. :D
Bad news... I tried shooting my Cokin P system with a CP and at 17mm it's like looking through a cylinder... even at 24mm I can see the holder in the corners. It's gone by 28mm, but that's 11mm's of width that I can't use with my filters.
Is there anyway to avoid this? A different holder I can upgrade too?

Cokin P on Full Frame won't work below 28mm as you discovered. Their more expensive Z Pro setup is what you'll need, which will require new filters also.

Shoot... well, at least there's an alternative. The Z system will work perfectly though? Even at 17mm?

too you could try the single slot wide angle P holder as it works on my cropped sensor to 11mm with no vignetting so quite possible it'll work at 17mm on the Full Frame. Cost around $10.00.

The good news is that I used the Cokin A series up to 28mm.

The wide angle holder helps a bit, but you'll still have vignetting at 17mm with the FF.

Would it be gone by 19mm possibly? $10 is a lot cheaper than a new holder/filters...

On mine it disappears just between 20-22mm.

Just a thought but are you orienting the holder correctly? It makes a difference.

Absolutely, set the camera on a tripod and fiddled with the holder until I had it positioned perfectly. Still shows in anything shot below 28mm.
I guess an upgrade is in store. For now I'll just rely on photo shop for images shot below 28mm.:)

That's very strange. I think I used a Cokin A series on a 24mm lens without seeing any vignetting. I had the parts that gripped the filter at the top and bottom of the frame but obviously not visible in the frame. I also used the Cokin filters, not the black plastic type with the filter disk in the centre.
