Here are a few concert pics that might work. I ran these through PS levels and sharpening. Any comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Why did these not wash out, but most of the others did?

Scott,
Nice PIX....I especially like #1 and #3. I like #4 also, but mostly for the foreground figure.
Wash out must have been the camera exposing for the dark areas and washing out the highlights. Not sure why #3 didn't do that. Just glad it didn't.

I hint that #3 did not do that because the spotlight was missing. Looks like there was a light show going on which focused the several spotlighs on the generated smoke and not on the performers.
In #4 the blue performer is as washed out as in the other post.
In #1 the performer has his eyes closed.
Maybe it could be their clothes and positions on stage. The blue performers clothes reflect light like a mirror or so it seems. The other performer is wearing black reflecting no light.
Other than that, it looks to me like the black performer is in a position and positions himself in a way as not to be overwhelmed by the spotlight.
This is all complementing to what gsm x2 already said:
Wash out must have been the camera exposing for the dark areas and washing out the highlights
You might notice that in #1 you can see the ceiling and in #2 the spotlight railings above are very well exposed which i suspect might not be the actual situation onsite.
Anyway, these are very good shots and , WOW, very well done.

Nice work, perfect exposure. Nuff said.
Were you on a hovercraft to get all of these?

These shots are nicely composed, but use of the spot meter mode would have helped on getting the exposure. Don't trust a built in center weight or matrix meter when the subject is high contrast like this.

Very nice shots, concerts are notoriously difficult and these have come out well.
Why did some wash out? It is hard to say without seeing them but as I said concerts are tricky and you will usually throw away more than you keep. The light levels vary greatly across the stage and from second to second as the performers move, but they are always too low. I suspect that these are when the light was quite strong and the camera settings were about right for that instant
