Hello again,

Yesterday we did a fast comparison between

EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM

with my dRebel

Here comes my first conclusions:

1. Results were almost identical with 135 being just a bit sharper and just a bit brighter but not that much to catch your eye. You had to try hard to see the difference.
2. 135 wasn't blocking flash, as i was afraid
3. The only problem i see with 18-55 is the manual focus process. It is not accurate due to lense construction.

So for the 18-55 users we DO have a great lense. I would look for something else just to get more range ( xx-105, xx-135 or even xx-200 ) and mostly to have a better manual focusing mechanism.

Over the weekend there is a possibility to also have an 28-105 and i will do a better test going thru different f's. I also just bought a tripod so i can have same-same shooting conditions.

The only thing now is to find a place to upload the pictures so you can have access and make your own conclutions.

If you have any suggestions please post them especially about where i can upload a few 2MB files.

Best Regards
Greg
