Something of a departure for Me as I usually shoot 'prettier' things and hardly ever in B&W.Would welcome opinions!

Looks fine to me Peter, perhaps other shots of the same area would help put into some context.

I remember shooting somthing similar several years back for a mock photography project in which I had to illustrate "Deprivation" I chose a few streets of old collery houses that were due for demolition and got some great shots.

Cheers

I was just playing with it and I notched the contrast down a bit. In my irrelevant opinion I feel like B+W is often to contrasty. There is a good balance between black and white and it is usually gray.

I feel like B+W photogs often forget that there are hundreds or thousands of shades between black and white.

But then again, maybe its my monitor.

WOW! This is an outstanding shot. It really caught my attention. As for critique, the composition is outstanding, and I like the range from complete white to complete black. The only area I would look to improve would be the bricks on the left-hand side of the picture. They look a little "washed out". Maybe if they were darker, it would add even more to the shot.

Once again, good job!

Although this May appear to be ground level it is in fact about ten foot high and in the roof of an old out building. Once probably a stable and then in later years a Garage and now not even used as that.
