http://commfaculty.fullerton.edu/lester/writings/letters.html (http://commfaculty.fullerton.edu/lester/writings/letters.html) takes you to Paul Martin Lester’s page and an explanation of an advertising quote, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” it’s misused; apparently they’re worth 10,000 words. I’ve use a quote, that I like, and have tried to give those words a setting, a visual enhancement, in the context of my photo. I think we all have found words of wisdom that inspire or make us giggle (Mark Twain comes to mind) a daily boost; put them on a photo and share …

OOoh! I like those.
This is actually what I do... it's my profession. Photographer/graphic designer.
Almost all of my photos end up with some sort of writing on them.

Most of my pics contain Scripture, (not sure if it's allowed to share that here) but I do have some with quotes. I'll share a couple.

First one I did for my sister:
Second one was put on notecard stationery:

Flywing

I like those back at ya. It wouldn't be a discussion just a photo with a though; no? Anyway what font did you use please; I like it.

cfpackerfan
6th of December 2006 (Wed), 23:21
Hmmm, the first one is a font called 'hanshand' (can't remember where I got it from... I download LOTS of fonts)
The second one is called "Mr. Wade"

cfpackerfan
6th of December 2006 (Wed), 23:23
HERE (http://simplythebest.net/fonts/fonts/hanshand.html) is hanshand

HERE (http://www.searchfreefonts.com/fonts/m31.htm) is Mr Wade (scroll a bit)

Cat, really enjoy the second one the quote is very inspiring. Who wrote it?

When I found that quote, it was stated 'author unknown'... but I just now did some searching, and "Edward Teller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Teller)" came up once. All other search results for that quote don't name an author at all. So I did a search for Edward Teller, and it appears he did say it. ;)
I guess now that I know, I should acknowledge that, huh?

Close it is a digi sammich too, so the color is intensified, I don't have the real one in my gallery to share right now...I'll try to go back and get it later this evening. Theses day lillies are a vere irredescent red-orange.

Your orchids and quote are gorgeous.

What are your favorite quote sites? I use Quote Garden a lot and found another one recently, that I don't have in my favorites on this computer. But is the one I used for all the posts in this thread. I'll share it later too, have choir rehearsal tonight so I'm doing some fly by posting.

Ooo Wally, I really like that a LOT. The photo is fantastic, and the quote is perfect.

A little suggestion:
could you put a slight (very slight) drop shadow on the words? It would help 'a river' in the top line stand out a bit more, and would not affect the other words at all.

Becky, I love the feel of yours, and it sums up the quote perfectly!
Deb, after reading about your Mother, yours evokes a strong emotion. Beautifully done.

The interpretation on the quote could be taken a couple different ways.
I think I took the easy way out by making it a bit comical. ;) But now I want to do another one and give it the meaning Ms. Bombeck intended. ;)

Terri, yes, I knew it was coming. I'll try to remember to send you a PM tonight while I'm post processing the pictures from Saturday night.

Cat. I was thinking the same thing this morning, where is Wally?

Thank you Becky :) I was actually trying to screen the section with my quote in the last photo, but couldn't figure it out

I also have been wondering about Wally. He doesn't ride horses does he:eek: ?

I sent him off an Email asking if he's been hiding under a horse. ;) He's probably just enjoying the holidays.

I made this one the other day from my series of rose photos ..:lol:Now that I'm looking at this again I see maybe the text should be softer ..more delicate like a rose ..what do ya think?

I love it Deb :D I think I agree with you, though. A lighter font color would definately soften it a bit :)
