I am looking to pick up a monopod, I was looking at the Bogen 685B NeoTec and the Bogen 680B monopod. I was wondering if you feel the 685B is worth the extra price difference and if it is really that much better. Also are there any other monopods that anyone could recommend?

It also is plenty tall enough for me (I'm 5'10") and is quite reasonably priced.
I top my 680B off with a Bogen/Manfrotto 486RC2 ball head for an extreme level of versatility.

i got the 681b, a tad bit long when collapsed. Just wish it had an additional 3" of length. Gotta squat down to look in viewfinder.

I like mine (B/M 694 )! I have the miniball head, just ordered the 486RC2 also and I use the rubber suction foot thing.) I am 6' 4" and was so concerned about it being tall enough or not. Mine works fine at eye level with an inch or two to spare. If you are only short three inches, maybe the rubber foot suction cup might put it just right for you at a low cost, and it does help grip the ground end.
