Hi,
what's the most advantage of a carbon fiber tripod, over aluminum?
they seem to weight about the same.
is carbon fiber more sturdy, stable?

the carbon monopods and tripods are normally a little lighter than the aluminium model of the same size
one of the big advantages is the carbon vibrates at a higher frequency, and stops vibrating quicker

as noted before, lighter, stronger reduced vibration more.
In column, CF pound for pound is much stronger.

Much Lighter and stronger for a given size. Gitzo makes great CF tripods.

Lighter, more rigid and no frozen fingers.
Since it's black through-and-through, there's no paint or anodizing finish that can be damaged as well - a little side-benefit. :)
It costs a little (to a lot) more than aluminum, but worth it, IMO.
