Hi,
Well I have been using C1 SE for about 2 weeks now and have almost stopped using Photoshop 7.01 altogether, it has really just become a touch up tool. I find that the images are much better looking than either Adobe camera raw or Canons coverter and the workflow aspects are fantastic.
Here is my question: does anyone have experience with the above and the new Photoshop CS? I have been considering it for the 16 bit features but am concerned that the C1 SE will still do a better job than the Adobe camera raw in CS.
Thanks for any insight.

The Raw in CS is great,. it has tons of features and settings.. and it integrates right into photoshop.
But,. that said,. if you are adept at working with C1... stick with it. It is still the preferred choice of the gurus we all admire.. (like the Boss,. Pekka to name one) and for very good reason.
I have used C1 only a little,.. (as I started with PS701 and the ACR plug in) but.. I can tell you,. the results that I have gotten from Capture 1 wiht only dabbling have equalled or exceeded anything I have acheived with PSCS. Now,. it stands to reason that once I gain more familiarity,. with C1 I should be getting better results faster.

I agree, many have good success with C1. I find that for my workflow, though, PC-CS works better. I usually do more some up in PS (like healing brush, touchup eyes, etc) and I like that I can go straight from conversion into PS rather than saving as a TIFF (much larger file) just to open again in PS.
For mass conversions (like converting everything to JPG to burn on CD for sharing), I'll use C1. I can quickly adjust WB, Exposure and convert. I use C1 Rebel and the 10 file queue isn't much of a hinderance, I'm usually working on something else anyway.

i have C1reb, and PSCS. i'm not that fluent in post prosessing YET. i
find C1reb easier to use for raw conversion, and exposure comp.
can one of you fine people tell me how to extract that JPEG? don't
tell me i've gotta unwrap that Canon software that came with the
camera. ha ha
thanks,

I don't know if it's actually extracting the JPG but you can try COLLECTION -> EXPORT PREVIEWS menu.
It works on all the images in the collection. I haven't tried it yet. I usually correct WB and exposure on each image at a time.
