I just calculated how big I needed each strip. Once I cut the strip I saved the image so I didn't have to measure where to cut it again. It took a few tries but it worked. Most people don't actually like that one. I personally love it.

Tom, I answered your PM. Thank you again.
One thing, these don't work when you want to make prints, as printers always crop a bit more. What I would do in this case is after adding going trough the steps, place this on a new canvas slightly bigger than the picture so the white border is cropped by the printer instead of the frame/borders.

I'm not going to be much help -- I actually made those myself. If it's any consolation, I did learn about them from DigitalScrapbookPlace.com (http://digitalscrapbookplace.com).

I really love these.. Do you all do these in photoshop? I have Gimp, because photoshop just is not in the budget right now.. I would LOVE to be able to do these. Is it different layers put together? I am new to all the photoshop stuff, I used to use it just to take out red eye and crop..

All seperate layers.
The basics:
Make a background layer.
copy and paste to the background all the photos you want to use.
Rearrange/resize how you want them.
Add text, decorations, etc.
That's it in a nutshell. Experiment, have fun. There is no end to the possibilities.
Oh yeah, one more thing... then share them here. ;)

This collage was made last year on our 5th wedding (http://www.pbase.com/kurniawati/our_wedding) anniversary (I keep it simple because the photos themselves are already 'busy'):
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/8388/collagejg1.jpg
There are 2 reasons why I chose the lyric:
A lot of people doubted we would make it this far (not only we come from different cultures, but we actually only met for 6 months )
Hubby was very sick (I was told by his doctors he had a thin chance to live ) and he didn't think he would make it to our 5th anniversary!

Cat,
Thanks for the kind words, a friend of mine gave me the photographs to play with. You should have seen the look on his face when I showed him the final product.
He was over the moon.
I have a 16 x 20in framed print hanging in my office, I love it too.
It has been hard to beat, but I love the challenge.
I had a look at your website. Love it. Very nice images. The scenery where I live in Australia is very average. Very dry, everything is dying, I try to shoot things on dusk or dawn just to give the place some colour.
I have put a website together myself, but as I have no clue what I am doing in this field, it is looking pretty average, well it can only get better I say. Have a look if you like.

I think your site looks nice, Cin. All your collages are great (but I like the one you posted here the best. ;) ) The flower girl one is really cute too. :D
You should put your website in your signature. You'll get a bit of traffic that way too.
I don't do adwords or anything like that either, any and all traffic I get is from word of mouth and strategic placement of business cards. ;)

Mine is hosted by SmugMug (http://www.smugmug.com/). I know that there are quite a few POTN members that use SmugMug. It's fairly simple, and there are endless possibilities for customizing it. Yes, I did my own, but I have very limited knowledge of websites. And there is a lot more I would LIKE to do with mine.
Sorry, I am no help in that area. :?
If you decide to use SmugMug, they have a help forum to help you learn how to use it and customize it. :D (And if you want to try it out, if you enter this coupon code: S2Ug68e8YHqyg in the 'referred by' section, it'll save you a few bucks too. ;)
