View Full Version : I really really need help on my Canon Elura 100...

Hey guys.

I took some cool pictures with my Canon Elura100 and I used the USB cable (that came with it) to transfer pictures from my camera to my computer. It warned me that my computer (Windows XP) does not really recognize the Canon, and if I continue on with trying to transfer pictures, it may or may not work and that I should install the software that came along with it. So I cancelled and I installed the software. Once I opened the software (ZoomBrowser EX, right?), it won't recognize my camera. I made sure the USB cable was plugged and opened ZoomBrowser and then it just wouldn't do anything when I clicked the 'Acquire' link.

I then read in the instruction book that WindowsXP doesn't need to install the software for the Elura (?) and so I uninstalled Elura, set up what I wanted to transfer, and press that transfer button on the Canon... but it wouldn't open up anything on my computer.

Yes yes, I intialized my memory card, changed the battery, read the instruction manual, and everything.

What's wrong? Is my computer broken? Is my Canon Elura broken (that I just bought on Saturday)? or did I do something else wrong?

Help me out please.

Thanks
:)

Does teh Elura take pictures on a SD Card? If so, I'd just go and buy a cheap SD USB card reader and use that to copy the pictures right off the card.

It just won't transfer. I called the Canon people and they said that the PC sign needs to show up but it doesn't on mine. I dunno what's going on. It can't be broken because I just bought it. When I open ZoomBrowserEX, and click "Aquire Images", it won't do a thing.

Anyone know what to do?

Toogy gave you some good advise. Go buy a card reader, you can get them at Wal-Mart for less than $15, and just transfer the files from the memory card to your hard drive. You don't need to use the Canon software.

ZoomBrowser doesn't recognize my camera anymore though it did originally. What happened I don't know but a card reader works just fine.

I agree.... I never use canon software for anything.
