and Warehouse Express tell me that because it's my first order, they can only send it to my credit card address (I live at university during term time) :(
So now I have to wait a week and a half until I can grab my new 70-200 f/4L and go photograph some ducks

The time will fly! *NOTE SARCASM*
It's probably for the best anyway, you need to be studying for finals, not shooting ducks...LOL
Your gonna love the lens, I love mine.

The wait will be worth it, trust me! Look forward to seeing some shots from it.

I'm only a first year! Therefore I have a couple of fairly quick projects in before I break up, and one of my projects over christmas is photographical :D (shame it's landscapes, so I can't use my new lens for that so much, but ah well)
Luckily there are some lakes near my house, gotta break that lens in right! ;)

You could try calling the credit card issuing company, prove your identity and get your current address into their records as an approved address. Then you could call back WareExp and tell them you confirmed the address with the credit card company and they should be able to ship to that address.

More hassle than it's worth IMO, and it wouldn't be so hard for the OP to persuade one of the 'rents to special delivery the lens to the university address?
Hardly worth the trouble and the extra carriage issues though - it's only 10 days! then christmas holiday and heaps of photo opportunities.
It's the best lens, you'll really enjoy this one1

Aye, not really worth the bother of having them send it to me here, as I'll be home in 10 days. It's also not really worth changing my credit card address as at the end of the year I move out, and I hate talking to robots. :D
Got some good plans for the lens methinks, might tag along with my dad's photography club for a bit of fun. Next year I'll also be able to photograph for my university paper, which gives me some nice events to cover.

You do know that you can add addresses to a credit card.

I ordered the same lens today as well. It will be my first L lens. I’m looking at a week as well, mainly just the postal problem from eastern Australia to the far west of the country. Anyway, I always have lenses sent to the nearest post office and pay cash on delivery. I really am going to find this the longest week LOL

I can relate..
My work has taken me far from home and I REALLY want a 724 ISL, like, RIGHT NOW :D
I'm planning to wait till I get home. Sure it's only a few more days but those days feel like FOREVER!

Im really excited here!!My lens arrived EF 70-200 usm L . Its real purdy too LOL. A lot bigger than i expected for a 200, my 300 is nowhere near as large. And the lens hood is huge!!!!! Im about to put it on the camera and go and test it out.
One question, does anyone know anything about extenders. I am thinking of saving up for a 1x4. I really hate to sound dumb, but how much reach will the lens then have?

the 70-200s work well with a 1.4x TC.....adding that will give you a 98-280....which should reach clear to the moon and beyond.;)
