Photography Oppertunities

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me out with some clues on how to get into other types of photography for concerts, basketball, etc. How do I get the companies to consider hiring me? I'm really into Aviation Photography right now, but its getting hard to shoot now with the security concerns, and since I've gotten the Digi Rebel i really have the oppertunity of expanded my horizons within photography.


Any help is appriciated. I'm in the NW Indiana area if that helps at all. I really want to get into shooting concerts, and sports.

Concerts and aviation are not areas I work in, and are very different areas, with very different clients, but the basic principle is the same: You have to look at who will pay to use the pictures you like to take, and then find a way of getting yourself (and pics) to them.

E.G., Photography-Client examples, Concerts-Music Press, Music companies, artists, celebrity photo agencies. Aviation-Aviation magazines, Flight schools, pilots, Aircraft owners/manufacturers, etc.

Look at every possible way of selling your type of work, either by commissions or on a per-image basis. Hope that is some food for thought...
