Okay, let's preface this with "I'm probably doing something stupid, but I can't figure it out." I don't have any real php/mysql experience, but I've been able to fumble my way through the learning experience. I guess now that I'm tired enough, I'm willing to ask for some help.

Briefly, I've installed the beta and I'm updated to 15-5 fix 2. Parts seem to work, but I still can't get the images to show up properly. I think it's probably a path problem, but I've tried everything I can think of. Here's what I've done in a nutshell.

Installed the program on the server. Put in the updates. Tested the ftp. Played with the resizing parameters a bit (tried to go back and fix anything that I might have changed. Set and tested ftp. I made a folder called images in gallery, and made folders called thumb, micro and normal inside of images. I chmod them all. Tested graphics modules. FTP'd seven images into upload. Tried to set the paths. Uploaded the images to Exhibit 1.

This is where I'm stuck. If I browse to the gallery, the 5 most recent thumbs show up on the front page, but the main images aren't found, and I've never seen the microthumbs either.

I can ftp to the site and see that EE did put the three sizes of files into "gallery/images/normal", "gallery/images/thumb" and "gallery/images/micro", but the links aren't working.

I've messed with the paths over and over. I've deleted the images from the gallery and re uploaded them. I've checked the sizing parameters. I'm not sure what to try next. I'm not really confident that I have the relative path or the urls set exactly right, but I find it strange that the thumbs show up on the front if the path was wrong.

Any guesses anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Maybe some sleep will clear some of this frustration for me as well.

Thanks,

Chris

PS - the gallery as I left it is at http://www.digitalnj.com/gallery

This is a beta bug, not error on your part. A bug in default photodata system allowed it to feed photos owner id's which were not there.

First, go to set default photodata editor, select every selection from the exhibition menu in turn (also 'Default photodata settings for a new exhibition') and press "UPDATE DATA FOR THIS EXHIBITION" for each one.

Then download
http://photography-on-the.net/ee/beta/download/ownerfixer.zip
and unzip and run it.

That should get your photos back. Let me know what happened.

PS. EE's ftp creates folders for you, you do not need to create them or chmod them manually.

PPS. relative paths affect some editor pages only, not public views.

Thanks for the help. It took about two minutes and I'm up and running. You wouldn't believe how many times I changed those paths yesterday!

I appreciate the help.
