Are multiple exposures, on the same frame, possible with digital cameras?

Juan,
I have the D30 and Digital Ixus. It is not possible to take multiple exposures. However, you can achieve the same effect in Photoshop by copying separate images to different layers in the same image file.
I've never tried it, but I guess you'd have to fiddle with the layer blending.

There's a really nice example at the www.canong2.com site - try http://canong2.dynip.com:8080/canon-g2/digital-darkroom-article05.shtml for an article on how to create the image...

here's a tip with regard to layering the images.
Select the image you want on top and drag using the move tool on to the back image, but be sure to hold the shift key as you drag. This will place the image exactly on top. No need to waste time aligning. With a tripod, you would be creating a "double exposure". The blending modes can help you get different effects.
here's one

Still trying to understand the differences between digital and film:
In darkness, set on B, with a flashing strobe and a moving subject, will digital record multiple images?
I have been using an AE-1 and A-1 for 30 years, as a hobby only, and except for B&W my lab has been in my camera. Right now I say PhotoShop, ShotoPhop, with digital I would like to still experiment and conduct most of my hobby in the camera. I want to print at home without an enlarger and chemicals and that is a key factor for me. Another factor is that I can play around more without the expense of film and processing. But I want the flexibility to play more with the camera and less with the computer.
I have come within minutes of buying a D60 several times in the last week or so. I also have been considering a slide scanner as an alternative.
What do you hobbyists say?

Yes, it will capture multiple images if strobe lit.
The point is that this is still a single exposure as far as the camera is concerned.
What is not possible is for the camera to take several different exposures and combine them into one.
