I'm not sure if this has been done before but I would like to see all your websites. Reason is, i'm in the process of designing a website and would like soemthing to follow that I like and want mine to look similar too.

Thanks http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/emoticons/smiley.gif

www.ballphotographers.com (http://www.ballphotographers.com) aimed at universities

www.myeventphoto.co.uk (http://www.myeventphoto.co.uk) for general event stuff

www.eventphoto.org (http://www.eventphoto.org) is for my email address and also details the services we offer to other photographers

www.garyevansphotography.co.uk (http://www.garyevansphotography.co.uk) is about weddings and portraits

www.ball-photographers.com (http://www.ball-photographers.com) is where I keep most of my online galleries, and its also a commonly searched for phrase

and finally www.graduationphotographers.co.uk (http://www.graduationphotographers.co.uk) is one that I have - much to the annoyance of all the big graduation photography companies

I also have some personal ones.

Mine are linked in my sig, but I'm a little concerned about one of your comments. You said: i'm in the process of designing a website and would like soemthing to follow that I like and want mine to look similar too. Most people would prefer you *didn't* make your website "look similar" to theirs. It's one thing to say you'd like to get some ideas or see what's out there, but most of us have worked hard on our sites and paid a lot of money for them and would rather not see people making theirs "look similar".

Oh wow, this thread is great.

Ok, i would REALLY REALLY like some feedback on my site if anyone would be so kind to browse through it really quick.

-I do NOT know HTML codes for anything, and did my entire site myself, using google searches of ALL KINDS to help. It is really basic, but took many many hours to create. I use Mozilla Firefox, and have found that sometimes IE users see the pages differently than FF users. I've NEVER heard anything from Safari Mac users.

PLEASE-o-PLEASE give any feedback! Positive and Negative! I can handle the honest truth if you feel it is horrible!

I'm a consumer of photos. To be honest as a consumer, I have no time nor the installed flash player to open those sites that requires such a thing. It is a bit of an annoyance. You click on a site and then you get into this opening page. Worse is you wait for the flash page to launch with the progress bar. Seriously it looks nice upon creation, but as a consumer of many photo websites, I generally move on.
So Skweekie, your site is straight forward and clean. When I go on it, it didn't make me wait nor send me to a page with some photographer's name in the middle of the big expanse of page wasting my time to click it again to access the main site.
Please folks, take it from a consumer, get to the point.

SkWeEkiE,

Love your site! I took a look at it while I was at work earlier and it looked rather odd. The title menus were all out of place, the flash photo show appeared below the rest of the site, with a large black box in the middle of the screen.

Now, I am at home and it looks great on my laptop!

If you've taught yourself all that you did on this site, you are one heck of a student!

By the way, I use IE on both my computer and my laptop. On my computer, it doesn't look right, but on the laptop it looks fine. Go figure. It's usually the opposite.

Anyway, it looks Great!

Per the GoDaddy add at the top of your screens, your site is being hosted for free by GoDaddy. I imagine somewhere in your agreement, your "free" site hosting comes with the "cost" of the GoDaddy advertisements in your header.

Pay for your site hosting and I'll bet they go away...

Any advice? I am working on some nifty flash stuff to incorporate, but it will be awhile until I get that done.:)

this is the kind of website im looking to do. ( a different layout though but same slideshow idea).
is this a template or did you make it yourself? I have a few other photography friends who have one set up like this but with a green roll over effect instead of the blue.

I really like it.:) :)

I know absolute zilch about the business of photography when I created my website but I went ahead and did it anyway just because I enjoy the outdoors and landscape. :)

My slogan and website in my sig.

I used Winklet Web Design for my site.http://www.winkletwebdesign.com (http://www.winkletwebdesign.com/)
The software required to make a flash site is VERY expensive so I decided to buy a template. Their customer service is excellent! I recently decided to customize my template and they were more than happy to answer any questions and make the changes I needed. I always received a reply to my emails within one day. I would highly recommend them, especially for anyone new to publishing a site (myself included).

Thanx for taking a look at my site.

I've been taking pictures for 8 years, I used to have a small digital camera for my camping trips. I got serious about it 2 years ago. Now I use the canon xti.

Thanks, someone pointed me into the direction of winkletwebdesign before. I wasn't sure how customized you could get with their templates that were there.
and thank you for the web advice! We've got flash and the other softwares but i have NO CLUE on how to use them. Too advanced for me at the moment. I'll definitely give them a look at!
Thanks again!! I sure love it!

My events site is: http://www.zoomphoto.ca

I programmed it from scratch with php/mySQL.. there are not many sites that you can sell event photography, or really any photography from Canada.. so I made my own.

I've been working on my personal portfolio forever.. I just can't settle on one design... and I never seem to have the time to devote to my 'hobby' of photography.

It's nice to see a site that does not have flash on every page. I think that most people perfer sites that are easy to navigate and they do not have to wait for the pages to load. It's best to showcase your photographic talent more than you web design talent. Just my opinion.
