Hello all,

I'm just starting to get into digital photography after about 5 years of shooting with a standard SLR. I have ordered a Canon EOS-10D, mostly because I already own several Canon lenses and the 1.6 focal length conversion seems reasonable. However, I will admit that I know next to nothing about the image control settings and other capabilities of this camera (or any digital camera for that matter).

I am hoping to find a school or course on digital photography that will explain the basics as well as some advanced techniques when it comes to shooting digital and processing the images. Does anyone have a recommendation? If possible, I would prefer a school or course that runs for one week or less. Location isn't really an issue, but anything on the East coast is preferable.

I have searched several local community colleges for such a course but have not had any luck. Thank you for your help.

Local Colleges has just started the slow turnover into digital, I've been takeing classes for over a year and they're just starting to let us student shoot digital.
You may want to look for a digital darkroom course to learn editing & that can help with some of your camera settings.

From my personal trials I recommend use what you have learned on film and practice with the basic camera settings to see your end results. Everyone has a way that they like I leave my camera on Adobe RGB , AWB for the most part and use everything else as film based. All editing is done in photoshop. This way I keep my head straight onto shooting photos.
