I'm not an expert, but I would like to see more balance between the sky and shoreline. Maybe it would look better as a panoramic shot with more of the foreground cropped out?

Thanks for looking and for the comments. I struggled with this one as to where to crop it. I tried it cropping in the pool of water between the 2 strips of sand but I didn't like the way it looked so I left the bottom as shot and cropped most of the sky out above the line of clouds.

I like how you've got more foreground then backround, it makes for a great focus IMO.

It shows just the right amount of sky, the blue turning to pink and then the pink turning in to the horizon to the grey of the foreground. It represents the immense beauty of the sky and then the dull greyness of the low tide bottom. Maybe I'm just looking in to it too much..

I would agree that there is too much foreground and too little sky in the composition. The problem is that the way the foreground gradates to dark adds depth. That makes it hard to crop in that if up cropped from the bottom up too much, you would lose that effect. /Dan

I think you right on about minimizing cropping from the bottom because it adds depth to the picture, it didn't look right when I tried cropping the bottom it but maybe I went to far. The sky above the clouds was very plain so that's why it was cropped out.

BTW I liked your rural scenes in your gallery.
