Help! I've lost the ability to crop!

Somehow I have managed to change something in PS7 so that when I use the crop tool it draws a constrained window rather than a free window. Does anybody know how I would switch it back so that I can crop to any desired shape?

Answering my own posts. I must be mad.

Not sure how I fixed it but I have full crop back...

In 7 and 8.. when you crop at the top there is a dialog where you can specify a crop size,. like 8"x10"... you need only cancel this for it to be feehand again.
