I like the pose. Myabe it's my eyes but it's abit soft and hot on the upper breast area. Was this cropped heavily?

These UK Robins are so cute. Are they very common?

Hi - Extremely common , one of the top ten most abundant birds in the UK and numbers are swelled further in the winter when we get large numbers of continental birds visiting. They're well know as being the gardeners friend and can become hand feedingly tame. Doesn't take anything away from the photographer though as anything wild is a challenge to capture. From the image you might not appreciate the size, roughly about a quarter the size of an American Robin and probably more like your Catharus thrushes, ie Hermit. Trying to think what I can compare them too but I'm not too sure where WI is - Wisconsin? so perhaps think American Goldfinch size.

Wisconsin is about on the same latitude as the UK. 44-45 degrees or so. But on the east side of the Mississippi River. How about comparing them to a sparrow? We do have plenty of those and so do you. :)

Lol - well perhaps but we only have two regular species of Sparrow (Tree & House, nb our Tree Sparrow is a different species/genus to yours) whereas you have many and none of your Sparrows are actually true Sparrows rather a Bunting type of genus. You may have introduced House Sparrows, but that said the whole "Sparrow" concept would have seriously confused the issue.
