I have been reading so much about cracks and holes, and I was wondering how many people have a problem with the case relative to the number of people with the cameras. Are 100 people shouting out about a problem that only 1% have? Are 90% of the cameras defective? This isn't a scientific, or even well written poll, but it may be interesing to see the results.

Vote once if you have a G2, crack or no crack, or if you are contemplating a G2 camera.

Thanks

Paul

The poll does indeed work. About 200 people have answered the poll. The results can be seen at this link.

I'm using a g2. Mine have no sign of a crack anywhere. Is there a certain part where the crack usually occur?
Thanks

Check the side where the manual focus button is located. Just to the right of the strap eyelet and up towards the top on the grey plastic back is where the cracks normally form. Hope your is not one of many that develop the crack over time. Sometime the use of a magnifying glass of a photo lupe is needed to see the crack in its initial stages.

Can we somehow send this poll to canon USA. I do notown one but want to buy one. I have called canon twice. Both time they claimed that it is not a common problem and they have heard about it one once or twice. They did no acknowledge that it could be a engineering defect. I told them that the canadian canon site has updated their website, acknowleding the problem and asking everyone with a crack to send their camera to the service center. Their answer was "I do not access to the candian web site". I do not think that Canon is handling this very well.

Check out this site at canadian canon

there should be a "dunno" option in the poll.
