Hey everyone,
I wen't to work a show last week (http://www.stellarkart.com http://www.eleventyseven.com), and got some pics. I wasn't really happy wit the shots I got, but I pulled out a few decent ones. The only editing I did was sharpening them a tiny tiny bit. I like the effect. Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated :)

Hey was this the manheim show?
I was suppose to go but then had to stay because of work :(
Not a fan of flash shots - though these are very good for flash shots. The second is especially a superior flash shot due to more even distribution of the flash on the skin tones and really sharp.
But the flash shots to me totally disrupt the mood/vibe of the venue and lack the color richness and depth of pro nonflash concert shots. Your Carrie Underwood to me are much more compelling in colors and vibe though it look like you fired the flash on her too.

These are all non flash.

I do see the difference. I did not want to use flash, but it was VERY dark. The place it was at had a few lights on them. I attempted no flash at first because I didn't want to blind the guys, but it was absolutely horrible and not working I have a Canon S2, so any suggestions for the next show would be great :) And this was the manheim show :) Maybe I will get to meet you one day at a show, that would be awesome to have someone with the same interests

Did you use flash on the carrie underwood pics?
If you cranked the iso as much as you good and lowered exposure by one stop and shot in raw [I am not sure if the s2 can do these things] ... then unfortunately you may be stuck.
In such case, it's patience, you got to quickly recognize the light changes - recognize the brightest scenes and photog during them.
If you know the light guys, talk with them and coordinate a couple songs when they will use full blast lighting ... like the first and the fourth and the last, etc. Then you know what songs to be ready for and to get your position and fire away before the songs end and the light guy goes for a different lighting regime.
So you know Garret and Brian? Past my regards to them, say you saw me on the Canon concert forum. Bummed. I couldn't get there.
Eleventy Seven is playing Dec. 30 in Bedford, PA. If you wanted to road trip for that and to surprise them, I would be glad to advise you in person and let you try out my cam and settings.

Unfortunately, I dont know them  I just go to some local shows to work, and thye happened to be running that one. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Do you by any chance go to Creation Fest? I get credentials there and it would be cool to possibly have someone go with me.
