Maybe this question has been answered before, but I couldn't find any reference to it by searching on this forum.
I am getting an annoying blue spot in my pictures. It usually appears at the halfway mark on the top end of the horizontal (or on the right if I am taking vertical pictures) When I shoot a whole bunch of pictures, this phenomenom is not consistently happening. Is this the autofocus beam? or is it a light reflection?
Has anyone else had this problem? How do I make sure this doesn't show up in the photos?
Also, has anyone had any problems with their remote controls? My camera is fairly new (I got it in september) and at this moment the remote will only zoom in and take the shot.. It will not zoom out.

Is it a very tiny spot? If so, it might be a stuck/hot pixel. Sometimes they show up on every single shot, and sometimes they only show up on longer exposures. If it is enough to really bother you, you can send the camera in to be serviced (assuming its still under warranty).

I have a similar problem, but there are like six of them! Each is about 9-15 pixels large, two are red and the others are white. Even stranger, if I shoot in raw and open it with photoshop cs, they're gone! Using zoombrowser or the camera to convert it from raw, I always get them. My guess is that they are caused by a dead pixel that is oversharpened.

I had a blue spot develop on my G3's LCD and CCD after just over a year's ownership. The spot only shows up in low light pictures at shutter speeds of around 1/30s to 1 sec. but even then it's not really noticeable until you actually look for it.
It doesn't bother me right now as I have 2 more years in my extended warranty. Maybe before it's up I'll send it in for repair and then get a Pro2 or Pro3 to go along with it. :)

Yeah but I've only had it for two months! And I'm wondering if the warrenty covers it, since I bought it new on ebay. I have the card, but I think it says you have to write in the dealer you got it from..

I think I figured it out.. The blue spot is only happening on shots where the lens it at it's widest, and when there's a light off ot the side.. So I guess it's a "lens flare" or something..
I'm still having the problem with the remote though.. Guess I might have to fill out that warranty card after all!
