My husband and I were both shooting macros of Christmas decorations...this one ended up being a collaboration. Thoughts?

Thank you everyone for your nice comments! It was our first attempt at the selective color and we had a lot of fun with it. (It now resides as my desktop photo :) )

I love it, how'd you go about doing it in Photoshop? I like to hear other people's selective color approaches and techniques.

Thanks Matt for the compliment. I use PE4 and so I made a duplicate layer, converted it to B&W and adjusted levels and shadows until I liked it then erased the B&W over the christmas lights, used an infrared B&W filter to add contrast and dimension and then flattened it.

Not bad, but I think that sort of an image belongs on the Macro Forum.

thanks Milleker. It's funny, this was such a whim and has gotten more responses that my last 10 or so "regular, blood sweat and tears to get the shot" C&C posts combined
Again thanks to everyone who commented!

is it neccessary to flattn the image after working on it?
Permagrin

No...you can merge down instead. I flatted mine because I couldn't upload it to my server without flattening it.
