Is anyone else planing to photograph these planets as they converg in the Eastern sky just before dawn? (Western Hemisphere) Next time 2053.

I was hoping to get some tips.

Unfortunantly it's rain cats and dogs here and I was hoping to get a glimps as something tells me that my odds of being here in 2053 aren't all that good. If someone manages to get photo's though, I for one would sure like to see them.

Up! ;) - I think a lot depends where you are and whether in 2053 you are able to remember to do it :)

At 5: AM clouds are moving in and I have not been able to see them. (What the heck am I doing up at this hour on a Sunday?) 6:AM still no sign of them, clouds getting thicker.

More coffee!

Someone here has to have seen them. There's to many people spread around the globe to not have seen them. Still raining here.

I saw them this morning in Brooklyn. It just happened my astronmy class had an observation this morning. It was pretty cool to see the three planets together. Since the planets were close to the sun we couldnt swing the scope around to image them. But we did check out Saturn (directly below the moon). Here is a shot hand held with the kit lens

The moon has been washed out to get a good view of saturn

lol... facebook photo... and no way in hell is that the kit lens, unless your kit lens is 400mm....

to get a decent view, you will need a telescope with about 1200mm total... something like this+camera adaptor would be quite nice... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=3390&A=details&Q=&sku=412956&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

It could be the kit lens, that is, if the kit lens were attached to a deep space probe. But handheld, no way. Those deep space probes are not manned.

Ah yes it was hand held. Sorry I left it vague but ya we had a school telescope and I held the front element to the eye piece. Next time I till pick up a T mount adapter from school for it.
