why such a weird angle? because I liked the lighting effect at this angle plus i wanted to capture the wheels and the brakes at the same time. and yes...there is a door ding on the bottom part of my front fender :(

not the best pic by all means but hopefully i will get better with practice..

now i am looking for great wide angle lens (for outdoor landscapes)...i am thinking about going with 17-40L....

originally i was set of getting the 10-22mm SWA but after doing some research i found it is not compatibile (being thats its a EF-S lens) with full frame cameras such as 5D (planning to upgrade in the future).

again constructive critisism is always welcome! (i consider it beneficial to me anyway)

If you are planning on the 5D in the near future then IMO the 16-35 f/2.8L. I shot this lens on a FF and have excellent results. The 17-40 is a great lens but also an f/4 as is the 24-105. The 16-35 will give you an extra stop.

If you are planning to get the 5D in the future, why don't you get it now? That would make your 24-105 1.6x wider without getting a new lens.

For my personal use, I am happy with the image quality from my 20D and don't see any need to get a full frame in the future. That made the decision to get the 10-22 and 17-55 EF-S lenses easy.

lol man you folks are making me regret not going with the 5D haha :(

i totally understand what you are saying tho...with the 5D...i am killing more than 2 birds with 1 stone..

since i am a beginner...i had 2 choices...

1. buy the XTi (after thanksgiving) and buy quality glass

2. buy the canon 5D

get the tokina 12-24!!

i was considering that lens as well but can this lens be used on a full frame?

i wanted to get a wide angle lens for the XTi that i could keep when i get my 5D in the future (maybe sometime next fall)

I don't know if you're one of those people that only shoot Canon glass, but I just got the Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6EX DC HSM and absolutely love it. Sharp, clear and great color! And very little distortion - even wide open at 10mm. I actually took handheld shots of our model homes in relatively low light and they came out gorgeous! I was shocked at the quality of this little lens! I did a lot of research about it and in most cases it came out the same (or sometimes slightly above) the Canon 10-22! Just thought I would throw it out there! But I'm not sure if it's compatible with a 5D. I shoot on the 400D and love it (no plans to upgrade bodies - just glass!) :)
