Hi,

I was asked to shoot a local band, the Thunderbridge Bluegrass Boys, who were doing a live recording of their new album at the local arts centre. It's a very small venue and was packed out with an audience of 104. I had free reign to shoot from anywhere including on stage (although it was cramped up there as well!). Anyway here's some of the shot and I'd be interested to hear what you folks think of them.

Well these are marvelous ... Bluegrass shooting is a great opportunity because they share one microphone. I've shot Rhonda Vincent a couple of times and it is fun.

Thanks for the feedback folks. This was my first gig shoot and I was quite pleased with the results but more importantly so are Thunderbridge boys. I've been talking to some other local bands about future shoots as well, fingers crossed as I had a great time working on this.

Very nice shots.

I would try to capture a few "full instrument" shots. You will find most bluegrass guys are very proud of the instruments they use, they like to see full shots of them.

I like #2, if you had shot in burst mode I think you could have captured the same shot with maybe just a touch better expression on the singers face.

Very nice.
