Naturally I tried it in the laptop.. and it worked perfectly. could never do that with a roll of film.

yea, CF cards are pretty durable.

This has happened to a few of my USB flash drives. Pop open the case and let it dry out and it works perfectly. As long as it is not salt water or soda/coffee.. :)
