Its a Photoshop (or simular package) fake. The number '3' in PowerShot s3 is not the same black as the rest of the lettering. The 18x is a fudge of 10x, as the 8 is not quite right, and obviously hand drawn (less quality then the rest of the image), as it is top heavy.

Anyway why would canon release a S3 so soon with a larger zoom that looks exactly like the S1???

Its an S2 with a lens adaptor fitted, so probably added the teleconverter. That would extend the optical zoom to about 18x if I am correct? Of course the photo is a fudge, but it is possible to achieve this level of zoom with the optional canon teleconverter...

Uh, Simon... it's not an S2 at all. As noted -- over 2 years ago -- it's a total fake image. Since the real S3 has been out for a while now, there's really no need to dredge up such old threads that don't add any useful information. (But welcome to the forums anyway.)
