#1 is a wooden statue shot in natural light.
#2 is a multiple image PS shot of snowmen refraction in a sucrose drop hung on a tinsel strand (took me about 10 minutes to get the drop on the strand :) )

Wow man....your shots consistantly impress me. As a relative newcomer to the hobby, "snowman reflected in sucrose hanging from tinsel" had not occured to me to try!! great shots.

Love the snowman drops - I suspected you might come up with some festive drops lol.

Nice work. How far away are the drops from the snowman? 5cm? 10cm?

Thanks for the comments all :)
I'm not totally happy the way the snowmen came out so might have to have another go at a festive macro.
The snowmen models are only about 5 or 6cms high so they were fairly close to the droplets about 3cms behind the droplet I'd guess. I used the same droplet for 3 different snowmen.

Great ideas with the refraction shots! Did you use a tripod for the figurine?

Thanks Al-
No, no tripod- not really even a macro shot- taken with my Tamron 28-75mm in macro mode (think it's about .25:1) 800IS0 F2.8.

Hiya Brian,
Excellent shots, in what way are you not happy with the Snowmen? I can't remember the name of the programme but they remind me of Harry Worth doing an optical trick he did with glass doors ??
Cheers for now
Mark

Thanks Mark :)
Yes I remember the Harry Worth window trick :)

On the snowmen didn't quite get the focus right on all the snowmen plus was not totally happy with the composition (even though I arranged it)
