What does a polarizer do versus a UV haze filter? I bought a UV haze filter and notice no difference in my shots than without, but I still use it out of habit.

I've heard a polarizer will help to cut through the crud and show a blue sky as blue even on a bright day. Is this true?

What else does a polarizer do? I'm wanting to buy one, but I'd like to know what all it can do first.

The UV filter does nothing as far as I can see but keep dirt off your lens.
The Haze filter filters out haze and I believe some reflection off water. It doesnt remove haze from say a Mountain in the distance or something.
Where as the CP filters out Rays from the sun and makes the blues bluer and brings out color more that otherwise is affected by the sun.

Thanks, cjm! That's what I was hoping a polarizer did. So... worth $60+ for one, then, I'd guess?

For a good one... $60 at least.
