So I was lucky enough to get in to take pics with the media, here's my first attempt at drift photography :) I need a longer lens to get more angles. These shot with my Siggy 70-200 :) Some are a bit soft.. .need more practice!

Nice to see "mad" mike had a front bumper on for the finals. Which is a cool pic by the way

I'll be going to the D1GP Finals in Irwindale, CA, but I fear they won't let me in with my 1D...

Are you kidding me?
Over here, they're all for free coverage!
I probably could have swung a media pass to the event, follow the 4 Kiwi guys in the world battle this Sunday. Watch out for my man, Sean Falconer..
And Aaron, I've said before... Some great shots there, plenty of motion.
Just wish I was that brave to run such a low shutter speed.

Looks like you had a great spot there :) Have to agree on #3, and I also like #6 as well (although they are all good).

i love how most drifting cars are never pretty (newbie drivers maybe? ;) ) when they should be.

yes that is a very rare and illusive shot of mike. not often you get to see the car with the full kit on.
I hate rotorys but love that car, is that wrong????

Thanks everyone :) Photog spots were very limited, and this was the best spot for my 200mm lens. I did get a couple of 'in the distance' shots, but not really worth posting.
I did get a number of shots of mike with no bumper, but it just looks sooo much better with it on!

Yep I have to agree... In any motorsport a vehicle with a bumper looks 100% better than without

That FD is badass. I don't think I've ever seen camo like that on a car before.
Good shots.

Reminds me of what I see at night outside my bedroom window, there is a good looking Nissan Skyline GTR VSpec that spins the back around almost every damn night, what a moron! cool to watch but on a public street!! insane.
Great shots, its a nice lens, you can get really close in to the action.
Nick :-)

Nah, drifting's priority is all about doing the job, not looking good(although that NEVER hurts ;) )

the problem with leaving parts of the kit off is when one of your sponsers see's the car they sponser in a magazine and on that particular piece of body work is usually their name
in 4wding I always try to keep the vehicle as a whole... of course that's not always the case when Tree's go walkies
