I'm using the Canon S50 and selected the Large superfine mode (2592x1944).
im using photoshop 7 to import the files, when i select image size in photoshop i see that the photo's are only 180x180 dpi.
Off course i can switch that to 300 or something for each photo but is there any setting i can do that this wil make this done automatically?

Thanks
otto

180DPI is ok, there is no point putting to 300DPI, you cant put back what wasnt there to start with.

My mates Olympus is 140DPI

The camera only selects pixel resolution. You can't select printing resolution from the camera.

Printing resolution is the domain of the printer or software doing the printing.

There may be a setting to change your default in your software package.

thanks for the replies.

I send my photos to a lab. Therefore I have to crop the photos in 2:3 format if i do that without resizing the photo (by setting the dpi to 300 without resample) the quality for bigger photo's are average. (cropping a big picture with 180 dpi) imo its better to crop a smaller picture with 300 dpi. Or am i missing something here?

Thanks,
otto
