Hello, I have a raw that I'm trying to quickly process and print for a friend. I've done my processing and I wanted to print a 5x7 for them. When I use photoshop and go to image/image size then set the width to 7 the height is set to 4.667, not 5 as I hoped. I know its beacause I have constrain portions on but why is the original image not the correct proportions and what can I do to get something closer to 5x7? Crop the image w/ the tool set to 5x7?

Quick help much appreciated.

The original image is 2x3 ratio , which is not 5x7 ratio, and you can only blame your camera maker for that.

You need to use the Photoshop crop tool (on the tool box, 3rd from top in the left column on my computer) to cut out the portion (in 5x7 ratio) that you want to keep.

This was ( an still is ) the worst thing about wanting multiple size prints from the same photo.
I always thought that I take a photo file, and when I ask for a 4x6/5x7/8x10, the only thing changing was the size of the paper the file was going on.
Now I have to worry about this 2x3 format. As long as I do not crop at all ( taking the right picture ) i can print 4x6's without any work. If I want 5x7 or 8x10, it is a very slow process ( unless someone knows a faster way ) to crop them to the size I need printed.
I use a Canon 5D, and just got into the business a few months ago.
