I was inspired by an image posted of a PowerShot S1-IS with a minor edit to make it have a 12x zoom, and rebadged a S3-IS.
My version is basically a G5 with some Pro-1 bits thrown at it for good measure, enjoy!

Hmmmm, lets see, lets make the spec's (OK these are obvious from looking at the image!):
-6 MegaPixel
-5 Times Optical Zoom
-That new whizo focus aid that the Pro 1 has
-Pop-up flash
-Digital view finder
-Flip Screen
BTW, AeroSquid, I have a camera very simular to you G3, a Canonet, roughly same era, it is fastened to some nice wood now, and used as a bookend! I wonder how long it will be until one of my digitals suffers that fate!

I just saw the sample images.........somebody posted it on a japanese site.
Did you notice the noise at iso 100?? I enlarged it 200x and I definitely saw some noise............
I hope a new firmware will fix this.............
Also I saw severe CA on a few edges........

Interesting. No fringing around the shoes. Maybe those shoes have an anti-reflective coating??

For some reason the fringing does not bother me too much in this photo. Maybe I could live with it. Any of the eBay camera dealers taking pre-orders?

Actually, that's a really nice old Canon. You would be proud if it were yours. I'm proud of this one (though that is partly due to the family heritage):

Ah yes, the days of having to get the needle to sit in the middle, split prisms, and manual wind on. You learned to get quite smart with a camera with no automation, otherwise you would miss the shot (sports photgraphy was particulary fun). My first SLR was an Olympus OM1, even worked when the battery meter was dead. The old Canonet I have has a sort of solar collector around the lens that powers it metering, unfortunately it died a watery death, and hence why it now lives as a book end.
I did have some spare time yesterday, banished to the end of the house as my little sister used our place for her Hens Party until 2am!

Yes, the match-needle light metering system. That FT camera is going to Florida with me tomorrow as a second backup. Why? Because it uses a different flash unit. If my main flash fails Saturday, I have the choice of the pop-up flash on my 10D, the pop-up on my Elan II, or a strong Rollie shoe-mount for the old Canon FT.
I like that old thing. Lots of memories there.
