I'd love a nice walkabout, but the only Canon lens that has a decent IQ and large focal length is the Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L.

It's huge, heavy and just plain sucks.

What about a 24-200MM f/2.8-4 DO IS?

I would rather have a 2.8 or 4.0 but not a change although it would replace several thousand in different lenses

The 28-300L is what a year or two old, I doubt a replacement would come anytime soon.

This much zoom and L optic quality pretty much demands big heavy and wallet sucking. Just drag around the older 35-350L for some time, this puppy looks much better then.
