I took a tonne of pics and videos yesterday evening. As I finished, I flipped to the review mode and looked at the last few. Seemed fine. Turned the camera off, and set it down.

When I went back a couple of hours later, I couldn't get it to turn on. I've replaced the batteries with a recharged set. And also charged the set I used earlier. I've got it to turn on once or twice, it has the green light and displays "busy" in the display window and then turns off. Won't turn on in any other mode.

Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

I have never had that happen with my A40 but have you tried removing the CF card out to see if anything was wrong with that? If you have a card reader, you could copy the photos over like that and then see if a fresh set of batteries helps?

Good luck,

It was the card. Completely pooched. Can't recover any of the pics from it, and can't reformat it.

So I bought a new camera!
