Love No. 2 Great expressions on the faces. Excellent series of shots. Gotta get myself to a game some time. Only ever watched it on t.v. here in Ireland. When I was in USA/CANADA last it was off season and didnt get to see a game.
Thanks for sharing

Beautiul work. Nice reportage feel to the shots. You have a future in this biz if you choose it.

Some awesome shots!
Just when I think I'm getting better; someone shows me I still have plenty to work on.
Man, someone should really tell the guy in that first pic that sticking his tounge out in a full contact sport isn't the wisest idea!
That 4th pictures is just killer!

Cheers all :)
A bit of background on the season... My university's team, the Huskies (in shots 1, 2, 4), were in the past two Vanier Cup (national championship for Canadian university football) games, losing both. This year they lost a lot of their key players - star qb and rb along with a bunch of guys from the D line - so it was supposed to be a rebuilding year. They ended up losing two games straight for the first time since 2002 (including the one from shot #2).
The Vanier Cup this year was to be hosted for the first time outside of Ontario... and being hosted by my university! So, the Huskies definitely had motivation to play the championship game in front of a home crowd at their newly renovated stadium. Long story short, they made it. Facing them in the final was the Laval Rouge et Or, who are a powerhouse... losing to the Huskies in the semi-final last season and beating them for the Vanier Cup the year before that... so there was no better rivalry for the Vanier. On game day (November 25th) it was -23 celsius (around -30 with the wind chill), but Laval ended up winning the Vanier.
Rob, I plan on leaving university after this year. I'm applying to Canada's only Photojournalism diploma (no degree program available) program at Loyalist College. So I hope to one day have a future in the photojournalism biz ;)
Kevin, don't worry... I say the same thing! I'm always looking at what the pros are doing and strive to reach as close to that level as possible. Stick to it and you'll get there too!
