Hey y'all,
I shot a school dance the other night and just happened to use a kicker to highlight the girls hair because I didn't have a boom with me... Anyway, can anyone suggest how I can fix the ears on this one girl who had her hair pulled up and well, you'll see when you look at the photo!
Not my best work but certainly pretty bright! :lol:
Thanks
Dave

I would try using an adjustment layer for hue/saturation and mask off just the ears, then pull the red saturation slider to the left.

Ok, my attempt as follows (hope you don't mind me editing it, you have the okay in your profile):

How I did it:
Open in PS, duplicate layer, select brush tool and "lighten" mode - run over the bottom layer's ears with this then fiddle with the opacity of the top layer until they look natural. I also fiddled a little with desaturation to make a little bit more of the red go away. I merged the layers, had a look at it again and redid the first bit with the lightening because I wasn't happy.. I'm no PS expert but I'm getting better :) I used PS CS2.
Oh, I also did her left ear one more time than I did the right because it's a bit more red :) Oh, and I used the burn tool set to "highlights" to lessen the brightness of some of the stray hair near her ears as that made it look a little odd once I lightened the ears.
It looks okay to me - it's not a perfect job, if you wanted to spend more than a couple of minutes on it I think this method might work well.
++ P.S. - Welcome to the forums! :)

my attempt, simply used the magic wand tool to select the red areas, lowered the saturation on the red channel, did this a few times in various areas till i was happy with the look. then magic wand tool again on the really light areas and adjusted the brightness.

A huge thank you to all of you! I am not PS expert either but have come a long way with version 7... Hope to upgrade to CS2 soon
I think both edits are good, the last looks a bit more natural... I will play with a bit more using your suggestions. Thanks again!
