I know there are quite a few threads about this scattered around somewhere ... but I would just like to check my technique.

I've done quite a bit of photography but have never dwelled upon concert photography. This is my technique:

Use my 60mm macro and sit a few rows back (that way I can get some waist to head shots and crop if need be). Or am I making a mistake in the using the 60mm just because of the IQ and stop advantage over my 17-35mm? Would I better off using the 17-35mm with the choice for a wide angle shot - I can sit on the front row if need be.

I'll be shooting wide open not only for shutter speed but to blur the background (it won't be very neat).

I'll crank up the ISO (minimum 800) so that I'd be underexposing it by about a stop or less - filling in the stop with my 430EX on Manual mode. That will balance the ambient light quite well I hope.

Shutter will have to be a minimum of 1/160, I'd like to shoot at 1/200 and if possible over expose flash by a 1/3 or two .. that will depend.

So, what do you think? Thanks :)
